Kevin Michael - "We All Want The Same Thing" feat. Lupe Fiasco (Audio)

Posted at

Exclusive Audio
Keeping it real as I do all day everyday, I got a new talent I'd like you to check. His name is Kevin Michael. He's a young cat out of Chester, PA whose on the soul tip. His peoples just sent me his first single called "We All Want The Same Thing" (audio and lyrics below) featuring Lupe Fiasco that they wanted you to peep. It's a cool joint and it's got alot of serious character. Oh, a little about Kev, his style can be described as an infusion of Soul, Funk, R&B and Hip Hop. Plus, he's got an album coming out this summer for which he hasn't decided on title just yet. Kev really believes he can make a difference in the music game, he told me, "I'm going to tie everything together. Be Mr. Global, Mr. Universe. I've got the hit songs to do it - and wait till you see my show!" Wow, can he do it? We shall see. But yo, on the sly, check him out at his myspace page for more about him and what he's concocting over the next few months...

We All Want The Same Thing "Lyrics"
Kevin! Michael... Lupe... Fiasco...
Hey, little girl, don't cry, dry your eyes...
I wrote this song for you...
Now, it goes down...

Verse 1
Can you imagine every world? Every boy, and every girl,
They'd all get the same things, They'd all get the same things,
A little dough, a lot of love, with a mom, and dad to hug,
They'd all get the same things...
By the year, the world is real, and it don't matter how you feel,
Because, we don't get the same things, we don't get the same things,
You got to work to stay alive, for the hours, from 9 to 5,
We don't get the same things...

Hook
All my gangster friends, and all my skater friends,
We all want the same thing, we all want the same thing,
DJ's in the clubs, Jesus freaks, and thugs,
We all want the same thing...

Verse 2
And, I think about the way, all the politicians say,
We All Want The Same Thing Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com
Say they want to change things, say they want to change things,
Every year, they take some more, and I don't know what it's for,
Though, they never change things...
But, if you want to make it stop (stop), well, first, you got to start,
Making some big, old changes, doing some different things, yeah,
Get up out your bed, think outside your head,
And, you won't get the same things...

Hook
All my gangster friends, and all my skater friends,
We all want the same thing, we all want the same thing,
DJ's in the clubs, Jesus freaks, and thugs,
We all want the same thing...
All my ex-girlfriends, and all their new boyfriends,
They all want the same thing, they all want the same thing,
From Wall Street, to the hood, New York, and Hollywood,
We all want the same thing...

Hip Hop Verse
Yeah!
First empire to the people,
The have's, and the have not's,
Are we willing to give up all the hours, just to make it all equal?
And, make players out the mascots?
Because, right now, we don't see you, like the Sasquatch,
Unless, the root of all evil, is what you have got,
You're even more visible if your hair is lots,
If not banging from the beach, then banish you to the sand box,
With no lifeguard to come after you,
No amount, you don't count, like Dracula,
Your body drown, like a Titanic passenger,
Or, a Haitian refugee trafficker,
They come, and get you off the island that you crashed into,
They take a yacht, and send the slave ship back for you,
Money matters, don't let it master you,
Pressing on the answer, to they give you what you're asking for,
It's like that!

This is a message, to:
Remind, you, there's, just, one, true, coast, love...

Take them to church, Kevin!

"Push! is on the Move" Exclusive Interview with BadNews

Posted at

What's poppin people? It's your boy BadNews trying to do his thing on the interview tip. I got a chance to holla at my boi, Brooklyn representa, Push!Montana. He's up on his grizzle at the momemt in the studio preppin' his new album which is supposed to drop this October. Well he broke away for a minute to holla at me. Yo, I found out some really cool stuff about cuz that I wanted to share with you, so peep game...

BadNews: What's the deal?

Push!Montana: I'm good feeling good

BadNews: That's what's up. So tell me how did you get the name Push! Montana?

Push!Montana: If you put anything in front of me I'm gonna "push" it CD's, tapes, strollers whatever. I'm about that money.

BadNews: Makes a lot of sense no doubt. So you were a desent ball player in high school at Canarsie right? You were even all-city.

Push!Montana: yeah I was pretty nice, I played against Sebastian Teflair, Chris Doulby... yeah did our thing.

BadNews: so what made you choose pusuing music over lets say a professional basketball career?

Push!Montana: I was sick of the shit. School was stressful, Practice was too much and I wasn't trying to get in the NBA so my senior year in high school I started rapping. People thought I was nice so I though that's the lifestyle I wanted to pursue.

BadNews: word. I'm pretty sure you would had done your thing in basketball though. Ok, so I gotta ask you about this song you did titled "Masks Off"... what were your intentions or rather, what was the message you were trying to convey?

Push!Montana: its a metaphor. Everyone-- well most people have a mask on and try to potray a certin image. Well we were looking for a relase date to drop my album and we choose Oct. 31st. That would be the day wed pull the masks off these n*s. Shit ain't what it seems. There aren't too many real niggas out there, we're (real n*s) are out numbered so when we pull there masks off it helps even the playing field.

BadNews: Damn that's what's up. Ok here's a question that I wanted to know myself. What's a "hood capitalist"?

Push!Montana: Its a n* from the streets that's about his mutha fuckin' money! The US is a capitalistic country nah mean? Were the only country in the world that pays for our healthcare. You gotta have money to live. If you aint about your money then your better off dead.

BadNews: (laughing) that's my phrase of the day! "If you aint about your money, then your better off dead". Ok switching gears, I know your out east and you've heard about the Imus situation, what's your take on all this mess?

Push!Montana: First off, shout out to the Rutgers womens basketball team. When I first heard the comments I was watchin TV. And I was like, 'What the fuck?!' I was furious, but when I think about it, I don't think he should had lost his job. I wasn't offended. We live in the USA not LaLa land. But we have the 1st amendment. But I don't know how you can compare what Imus said to what rappers say. We're not calling college women "nappy headed hoes" and "jigaboos".

BadNews: Exactly! How can you compare what Imus said to what you hear on a rap CD?

Push!Montana: I never heard a rapper reference a nappy headded ho the way Imus said it. Imus probably thinks like that and just slipped up on the air.

BadNews: True. Well its all crazy and hopefully it calmed down a little bit. Now your from Brooklyn. That's where the likes of Notorious BIG, Lil' Kim and Jay-Z came from and made their mark on Brooklyn rap scene. What can you contribute to Brooklyn hip-hop?

Push!Montana: I'm part of the Brooklyn renaissance. I represent 88th-84th .Nah mean? I'm not no dumb hood n*. I never worked for no one I always made my own money. I'm gonna make good music, spit the truth and drop knowledge here and there that's what ill bring.

BadNews: no doubt I know you will definitely do your thing and I have a feeling that well hear drom your a lot in the future. Thanks for your time and good luck.

Yo, show P some lov and find out more about what's he's puttin' down right now by hitting up his myspace. One love!

Three Six Mafia speaks on Former Members

Posted at

I was reading an email that I receive from well known Tennessee hip hop site, Memphis Rap, about a story that was written in the April 2007 issue of the Source Magazine regarding Three Six Mafia and why the clique is only a 2 member group when it use to be 8. You’ll be surprised what DJ Paul and Juicy J had to say:

People be in people's ear and make them think the grass is greener on the other side. Then they tend to believe it," stated DJ Paul. "Who knows the reason.. they think they can do it on their own. It seems so easy when it's DJ Paul and Juicy J doing everything, but when you have to sit up, answer phones, make beats or go buy beats from somebody else, book studio time, fly back in forth across the country and do deals, read contracts around the clock, they see it ain't so easy."

"When they get on their own and they ain't got all that, they're like, 'Oh shit. I should have thought this plan out a little further before I tried this," added Paul.

"You've just got to be loyal, especially when you know that two dudes, like me and Paul, are doing most of all the work. I could see if somebody else was doing all the work, but I mean we built the company from scratch," stated Juicy J. "We're still looking for new artists to sign. If an artist leaves, there's always somebody that wanna be in your spot that'll work 10 times harder than the last person."

"It's a lot of opportunities out here, man. You've just got to get off your ass and go for it. That's what I did back in the day. I didn't have shit. Seriously. Growing up, nothing. Dead serious," added Juicy.

Interesting stuff....

Did Tru Life kick Cam'Ron's Ass? (Audio)

Posted at

Exclusive Audio
I debated about putting this useless disagreement on the site, but this is HipHopRuckus...we're all about mayhem. Tru Life, Jay-Z's protege, really doesn't like the Dipset crew...you already know this. Can't say I blame him, because the only cat from that clique that really merits any attention in my eyes is Cam'Ron. Anyways, about a week ago T.Life claims he thru some bows and beat down Killa Cam outside a nightclubin NY called Stereo. He also claims that his crew straight bombed on Jim Jone's happy ass and took some of his jewelry...Damn!? Hey, is this just locker room talk or "Tru Life"? Well, check out this interview that he conducted with Power 105.1 FM out of NY. And to hear both sides of the story, we included a later interview with Cam'ron with Hot 97's Miss Info to get his side of the story.

"And It Don't Stop" by ReddBoi

Man it seems like every time I turn around Nike is putting out something new, and keeping their eyes focused on the streets and current trends. Still celebrating and commemorating the 25th anniversary for the AIR FORCE 1’s they keep throwing so many things out there left and right. They are about to make me go broke trying to keep up. Since I am always on the hunt for new sneakers and other kicks I just had to do this one last article for them. Even though hardly any other shoe competitor can keep up with what Nike is doing it seems not only are they reppin the shoe game real hard. Now they are trying to cover us from head to toe. I didn’t even know they made sunglasses I am going to the mall today to find a pair (LOL).

Let’s start from the top and work our way down:

Nike has produced a 7-panel fitted baseball cap. The cap features text graphics throughout, with fine details including 6 players on the inside. This cap also comes in brown and purple and is currently available @ Nike retailers near you.

Next up (my favorite) are the Nike aviator sunglasses. I could mos def rock these in the club they come with their own case and lens cleaner. From what I understand they didn’t make a lot of these so if you get your hands on a pair make sure you get 2 one for you and one for me (smile).

The 25th anniversary tee shirt is available I have seen this shirt @ Foot Locker and other retailers. I mean it’s something simple and of course it already feels like summer so you can just throw this own with some jeans, shorts, or whatever and call it a day.

Last but not least…here are the glow in the dark Air Force croc-skins. A release date has been set for August and the shoes will run you about $135. Gots to get me a pair or 2 when they hit they streets.

Keep it gutter and keep it street.

Until next time Holla!
