Yo, remember those fly ass shoes called the "British Knights" from back in the day, well their making a comeback. BK and Gio Chiappetta (Pro Wolf Master) just debuted a shoe this month called the "Purple Wizard Moccasin. The design is reminiscent of the old BK legacy with a contemporary feel, and its nothing like I've ever seen! Dope!! For more info on the apparel, go check out BritishKnights.Com.

“WiFi Your Kicks” by YaBoyJavi
Posted at 5/14/2008 07:51:00 AM

A Step in the Right Direction is always important for those on their grind. That’s why designers at MSTRPLN and Ubiq Boutique collaborated to create the NIKE X MSTRPLN X UBIQ – ASRD sneaker-base technology that detects WiFi hotspots to keep sneaker freaks and tech geeks alike wirelessly connected.
The ASRD technology complements the NIKE Dunk sneaker. The sneaker is equipped with a pressure sensitive insole which when activated permits the wireless internet detection unit under the flap to scan for WiFi signals and displays the signals strength through its LED Read-Out Indicators within a 50 meter radius.
Although YaBoy isn’t exactly thrilled about its atheistic, the “shoe keep in theme with a covert and stealthy feel… that takes design cues from the skate shoes of the late 80’s.”
But why listen to me, go here and you tell me what you think.

MUSIC | VIDEOS | INTERVIEWS | NEW ARTIST | HOME“A Stoke of Genius, Rapper Do-It-All Isaiah Talks About Grind” by YaBoyJavi
Posted at 5/12/2008 08:52:00 PM
If it’s true hustle respects hustle, then you have to respect Southside Jamaica Queen’s Isaiah Stokes’ hustle. At 26, the rapper-slash-actor-slash-chief executive officer has accomplished more than most will accomplish in a lifetime.Isaiah has dropped a couple of mixtapes and has made a cameo on the television drama Rescue Me as well as Fitty’s Get Rich or Die Trying and most recently American Gangster. Most impressively though, Isaiah brokered a deal with Hennessey Cognac to distribute his latest mixtape “I Love You Isaiah, Vol. 2: Like It or Not.”
YaBoy had the pleasure to poly with Isaiah at a recent listening party and scribed a Q&A session. Here goes.
YaBoy: I understand music is a family thing huh, your pops played Jazz and your granddaddy played the Blues, what effect did their music have on you as a child? Did you know from young that you would pursue those family vibes?
Isaiah: Not at first, I actually liked music but wasn’t concerned with creating it. My pops used to make me stay in the house as a young kid and learn the piano. I was stubborn and never wanted to give up time in the park to stay in the house. Till this day I don’t play any instruments professionally but I have a great ear for what sounds good.
YaBoy: Now you’re an innovative dude. Your latest mixtape, I Love You Isaiah, Vol. 2: Like It or Not, was released on your label, Fonty Records, in conjunction with Hennessy Cognac. Tell HipHopRuckus readers how that came about and how they can get a copy of the CD.
Isaiah: Well they can obtain a copy of the CD on iTunes or when they buy a 5th or more of Hennessy from a liquor store in New York City they’ll get a free copy. It was the first ever deal I came up with after having the opportunity of meeting Gilles Hennessy, who’s part of the board of directors for LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy).
YaBoy: What should listeners expect to hear on I Love You Isaiah?Isaiah: As opposed to Volume 1 having mostly freestyles over known commercial beats, Volume 2 is all original productions from an intricate list of multi-platinum producers that are responsible for the successful careers of artist like 50 Cent, The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay Z - and I also provide a taste of lyricism that’s been missing from the hip hop game as we know it today.
YaBoy: Now, aside from music you also act. You’ve appeared on the television drama Rescue Me, as well as in 50 Cent’s “Get Rich or Die Tryin” and Denzel’s “American Gangster.” How did you get involved in acting?
Isaiah: I just jumped in headfirst when I realized my videos were playing on public access shows and BET. Although I always had a love for films, I figured it would be a good way to cross promote myself as a rap artist. I go to mad auditions and castings and I'm not afraid to speak up when I need to.
YaBoy: What was it like being around Hollywood elitists like Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe?
Isaiah: It was an honoring and humbling experience because I realized how many people didn’t know me and how much harder I needed to work. I get more attention as an actor even though I feel music is the most influential universal language.
YaBoy: Are you currently working on other acting projects?
Isaiah: I’m working on a couple of films, TV shows and commercials. I don’t want to disclose it right now [Laughs], but keep your eyes open. FYI, movies come out a year to 2 years or more after you shoot them – I’m constantly working.
YaBoy: I read where you were cited as a “Diddist.” Explain the catch-all-phrase?
Isaiah: I guess that would be referring to me being from the hood and having an entrepreneurial spirit. I feel like there’s nothing I can’t do once I focus my mind on it.
YaBoy: You have your hands in several cookie jars: you rap, act, you’re the CEO of an independent label. You’re doing it pretty big, however, if you were forced to choose one over the others, which one would you choose and why?
Isaiah: I get this question all the time. I feel like I don’t have to choose, I just want to be very successful.
YaBoy: Finally, when we first spoke you told me your motto was “A Billion and Beyond.” Tell readers what exactly that means to you and how they can perhaps apply it to themselves?
Isaiah: I heard Quincy Jones say to dream big and think astronomical so if you get half way there, you still good. I might wind up somewhere pissed off sitting on $999,000,000.
Listen to “Radio” off of I Love You Isaiah, Vol. 2: Like It or Not.

MUSIC | VIDEOS | INTERVIEWS | NEW ARTIST | HOME"Drop or Die!: Kaine and D-Roc Needs Your Vote" written and interviewed by Badnews
Posted at 5/11/2008 09:32:00 PM
The Ying Yang Twins have been off the radar for a little while, but that’s because they were in the lab in the “A” cooking up a new batch of club music just in time for the summer club scene. I got a chance to speak to the Atlanta dynamic crunk duo to discuss crunk music on life support, family and of course there new album. So check it out. Oh, and if you think they calmed down and gave a less than entertaining interview then your dead wrong.Badnews: What do people get most commonly get missed construed about you?
D-Roc: Were just down to earth regular dudes. Were not wild and crunk all the time, we do have common sense. I got kids I can’t be coming home to them all wild!
Kaine: Yep!
Badnews: Okay. Now you two met together while you were in middle school in Atlanta and you two are still together today, but what made you click at such an early age?
D-Roc: We never had beef. You create beef it doesn’t just come out of nowhere. Me and Kaine have always been easy slide on the bacon side
Kaine: Haaaaaaaaaaah!
Badnews: (Laughs) that’s what’s up. Now you two make club bangers with melodic hooks and your able to maintain that crunk on the album. How do you stay so energetic consistently… very consistently (Laughs)
D-Roc: Our music promotes the club. You don’t go to the club to stand around at least we don’t do that in the A, that’s like a rule. You go to the club to show out, drink a lot of liquor and holler at a chicken… talk to them chicken heads!
Kaine: Chicken head! (bwok bwok)
Badnews: (Laughs)
D-Roc: So our music gets you in that mode to have fun and let loose
Kaine: Haaaaaaaaaaaah!
Badnews: (Laughs) it definitely does. Now you two do crunk music, but it sort of died down. On this album your set to drop are you going to take advantage of trying something different?
Kaine: We stay in our own lane; we just do what we do. We won’t do anything different, were going to give you the Ying Yang Twins.
D-Roc: We don’t make crunk music. Lil Jon makes crunk music. He gets on a track and says “Fuck Nigga What! Fuck Nigga What! You aint never heard us do all that. Crunk is a style; it’s like a way of life, so we don’t do crunk music. But crunk aint dead, when Lil Jon decides to revive it then it will be back. But in the A, crunk is still aliveKaine: Clear! (Makes a shock noise then beeps)
Badnews: (Laughs) I feel that. Now let’s talk about the new album from the Ying Yang Twins…
D-Roc: Haaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The name of the album is The Ying and the Yang: Vote Ying Yang Twins for President and Drop is the first single off the record.
Badnews: What made you decide to choose drop as the first single to jump off the album?
Kaine: It just came upon itself. TVT heard it in the office and came to us and said it’s going to be a monster. The beat is different from what we usually do but its still us on the record. We have a lot of yang songs that have messages in them but people never hear that because they might skip over them and just play our yang songs. But we want to show the people that we have a serious side were not always loud and wild.
Badnews: Okay. Will the next single be another Yin Yang song?
Kaine: Oh no, the next one will definitely be a yang song.
Badnews: Well that’s something to look forward to. What’s the number one thing we can expect from the album?
D-Roc: Energy. We always brought energy and rapped outside the box. We speak for the ordinary man. We don’t brag in our songs, were not flashy. I mean we got cash but we represent the ordinary man.
Kaine: D-Roc is mad at me because I still live in the hood. He wants me to come out there.
Badnews: I definitely didn’t expect you to live in the hood but whatever makes you comfortable, I think you deserve to be comfortable at this point.
Kaine: Thank you.
Badnews: No Problem
D-Roc: Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Badnews: (Laughs) okay, we talked about the album when can we expect it to drop?
D-Roc: Well I aint gonna lie to you man, there is no release date yet but its definitely dropping this summer so it can be nice and ready for you all to act a fool!
Kaine: Haaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Badnews: That’s what’s up. Now we talked about the record, we talked about you all a little bit, but what do you all listen to? What are your top five rap songs?
Kaine: Hmm… I Got Soul by Eric B. and Rakim. Queen Latifah- Give it to them Queen, Ghetto Boys; all there work, UGK Riding Dirty and Outkast everything from them I love there music.
D-Roc: Ok I had time think. Kris Kross- Jump Jump, 2Pac- Dear Mama, Biggie- all of his music, some old school Kilo you don’t know about him he’s a Atlanta rapper, and some Sammy Sam.
Badnews: Ok, that’s a nice well rounded list it speaks a lot about your music.
Kaine: Thank you, I had to think about that.
D-Roc: Haaaaaaah!
Badnews: (Laughs) Yo thank you for taking the time out to talk to me that’s all I really had but do you have any shout outs?
Kaine: Shout out to everyone at hiphopruckus.com and the readers reading this, because if it wasn’t for you there wouldn’t be any Ying Yang Twins.
D-Roc: What Kaine said. Haaaaaaaaaaah!
Badnews: (Laughs) Alright. Well thank you for your time good luck with everything
D-Roc: No thank you for talking to us.
Kaine: Thank you. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
