West Makes Racial Remarks (Yeah, he said it...)

Rapper Kanye West has stirred up another controversy regarding race after making comments about the offspring of racially mixed couples. West made headlines when he declared that George W. Bush didn't care about black people during a telethon raising funds for Hurricane Katrina victims. And the Gold Digger singer has caused a stir again in the January 2007 issue of Essence Magazine by commenting on bi-racial babies. He says, "If it wasn't for race mixing there'd be no video girls. Me and most of our friends like mutts a lot. Yeah, in the hood we call 'em mutts!"HipHopRuckus Crew Writes:
Looks like Kanye West is a big hypocrite. You can say Bush doesn't care about black people, but how can you talk shit about your own people...you better check yourself man!!

"...in the hood we call em mutts..." First, I'm really tired of Kanye pretending he from the hood, and secondly I've never heard anyone in the HOOD I'm from call us mutts. Derogatory, ignant, and classic Kanye at its worse.
the only thing wrong with what he said was teh fact that he used the word 'mutts'... other than than, i don't find it offensive, and... it rings true..
But with all this contraversy(sp?) with Michael Richards. Shouldnt Kanye West apologize as well. IT was a racial remark.
I'm gonna second that last post. And true, he's not from the hood because if he's referring to growing up in poverty or a neighborhood that's not well-off (of any sort) as being from the hood then a lot of people have the right to make that claim (racial bias = not applicable).
I think the media might have twisted this one a bit. He didn't create the term "Mutt" and as a mixed person myself I don't find it very offensive, unless coming from the wrong person and in the wrong tone. He's basically just saying "Most of the video girls are mixed and they look hot, so...". He didn't say dark skinned people or white people are any less attractive.
I am so sick of this ignorant fool! He cries like a baby if he doesn't win ("because it costs a million dollars"). He's got some good beats...but, how many people does he collaborate with to make those beats? I'd have to say without them he'd be just another rapper... What Kanye needs to do is go back to "his" hood, you know, that middle class one he's from.
My nieces and nephews are bi-racial and I'm offended because they are certainly not animals, which is what a "mutt" is.
Kanye, go back to your middle class life...just get out of ours!
