Vic Da Baron

Posted at

Vic Da Baron

Vic knew he was destined for success early on in life. A natural-born hustler and bona fide artist, Vic Da Baron exhibited signs of unusually high intelligence and gained a reputation for his talents at a young age. Dealing with a loss as a youth introduced him to the harsh realities of inner city Oakland where he grew up. Profoundly affected by the brutal murder of his mother, Catrina, a soul and gospel singer and Vic's most enthusiastic supporter, he worked twice as hard to keep pushing and striving for excellence in his artistry. His brother, Vitani Teflon, also brought him along to local studio sessions and helped introduce him to the scene.

In November 2007, Vic released his first solo mixtape 12-02-81:The Beginning and also has features on The Comrades: Street Album, Hustlehauliks: Jak'n Beats Volumes 1& 2 and Nexus: The Connection. But it is his debut album, History In The Making, that brings serious heat. The first album off his label, Grindstone Ent., features Bayveterans E-40, Turf Talk, Numskull of Da Luniz, and Southern rapper,Prince Bugsy. It also features top-notch production from 6Fingers, Jallah, Frank Stacks, A. Rishwain, Kevin Bedford and Insane. His killer combination of lyrical intensity and raw delivery is reminiscent of some of his strongest influences Redman, Rakim, 2Pac, and De La Soul. Vic is also largely inspired by the talent of his late mother and the sounds he grew up on: Reggae, Gospel, 70's Soul, 80's Synth-Funk, and the grunge of the 90's. A true showman with the swagger of Frank Sinatra on and offstage, Vic Da Baron engages his audience like a seasoned pro. He is currently working on his sophomore album with artists like San Quinn and Redman.

Evidently,Vic Da Baron has garnered respect from hip-hop artists and fans alike and is continuing to create a buzz in the industry. History In The Making maintains the heat, voracity, integrity and pure skill he has demonstrated since, "THE BEGINNING."

Eazy E Begat... (Fill In The Blank)

Posted at

Eazy E

Flo here... I'm a West Coast dude. I was born in Cali and raised on West Coast hip hop like the NWA crew, King Tee, LA Posse, DJ Quik, CMW, Above The Law, Bobby Jimmy, etc., along with PE, EPMD, Rakim, Run DMC and all of them, as well as 2 Live Crew, Geto Boys... I need for you all to understand Eazy's influence on music today. I never thought Eazy was the dopest on the mic. Without question Cube and Ren both outrhymed him, wrote his shit for him and lyrically murdered Dre's beats, but Eazy's personality really carried that group and his business savvy set a ridiculous trend in the industry. Really quickly, you have to know who Eazy is ultimately responsible for:

NWA so therefore... Every rap group that came after from G-Unit to Bone Thugs to Tribe Called Quest to the Black Eyed Peas (Atban Klan)

Dr. Dre so therefore... 50, Eminem, Snoop, The Game and anyone that they brought out as a result of their success.

Ice Cube so therefore... Mack 10, WC, and therefore G-Malone, Roccett, Crooked I and anyone else that's bangin' out here and reppin' the W.

The list goes on and on. Even if you thought Eazy was wack like old heads such as Moe Dee and Melle Mel, you still have to respect Eazy's gangsta... Literally.

Ruthless Records was one of the first successful independent hip hop labels and by successful, I mean multiple platinum records:

Eazy Duz It = 2x plat
Straight Outta Compton = 3x plat
No One Can Do It Better = 3x plat
Efil4zaggin = 2x plat
Shit even Eazy's Anti-Dre shit went 4x plat not to mention JJ Fad and Michel'le for God's sake!

Stop shittin' on Eazy E. Y'all owe him some money. Write Lil Eazy a check and tell him "thank you" goddammit!

Rest in peace big homie Eazy. I don't remember you because of AIDS. I remember you because I thought you were only 15 when "Eazy Duz It" came out. I remember you for the Boyz In The Hood concert I saw you at with Too $hort, Hammer and Whodini. I remember you for that interview in the back of a pickup truck on Yo! MTV Raps! I remember you because of the 8-Ball jackets you wore and coming through the screen in "We Want Eazy."

DAMN THAT SHIT WAS DOPE!!!!

Happy Easter & Shit...

Posted at

Yo, I'm sorry man. I get too caught up in why we celebrate shit sometimes... I'm sorry to offend anyone but I'm not a religious dude but rather more spiritual. I do believe in knowing one's history. For those of you who just celebrate today with the kids and the Easter Bunny...

Photobucket

That's cool and all, but just do some research next time, aiiight?

I did it for you... Straight from Wikipedia too! I'm not trying to lose you, but lead you to the water. Drink for yourself and do the knowledge:

Easter, also called Pascha, is the most important religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] Christians celebrate this day in observance of their belief that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, now estimated to have taken place between the years AD 26 and AD 36. Many non-religious cultural elements have become part of the holiday, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike.
Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or the Easter Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days until Pentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. Easter also marks the end of Lent, a season of prayer and penance.
Easter is termed a moveable feast because it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. Easter falls at some point between late March and late April each year (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity), following the cycle of the moon. After several centuries of disagreement, all churches accepted the computation of the Alexandrian Church (now the Coptic Church) that Easter is the first Sunday after the first fourteenth day of the moon (the Paschal Full Moon) that is on or after the ecclesiastical vernal equinox.
Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover not only for much of its symbolism but also for its position in the calendar. The Last Supper shared by Jesus and his disciples before his crucifixion is generally thought of as a Passover meal, based on the chronology in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew 26:17; Mark 14:12; Luke 22:7). The Gospel of John, however, speaks of the Jewish elders not wanting to enter the hall of Pilate in order "that they might eat the Passover", implying that the Passover meal had not yet occurred (John 18:28; John 19:14).[2] Thus, John places Christ's death at the time of the slaughter of the Passover lamb, which would put the Last Supper slightly before Passover, on 14 Nisan of the Bible's Hebrew calendar.[3] According to The Catholic Encyclopedia, "In fact, the Jewish feast was taken over into the Christian Easter celebration."

Sha Money Responds to Young Buck Rumors

Posted at

Yo,

Flo hitting you up on this beautiful Saturday afternoon in AZ. My thoughts are with all my midwest people stuck in ridiculous snow right now. I'll be bitching when it's 115 outside in two months, don't worry...

Photobucket

In any case, here's what's up today. I got the word from Sha's publicist and I wanted to share it with you. For those that don't know, media hounds put it out there recently that Young Buck wasn't happy with the Unit anymore and that he has never received a royalty check from his work with G-Unit. I don't know either way, but I'm ridin' with the big homie Sha on this one... Here's what he had to say officially.

Sha Money XL:

"There has been a new rumor going on that 50 cent has not paid young Buck any royalties. I as Bucks manager and as former President of G-Unit records wants to make clear that that rumor is false. Young Buck has cleared over 10 Million from working under 50's and my guidance. I don't know if a writer waited 2 months from the interview to stir some new drama up or took his words wrong but Buck is waving the G Unit flag strong. I also add that any talks of Buck signing to any other labels are false.People are playing on the divide and conquer card and that's not gonna work!"
