New England’s Best - "Tragic Allies" by The Beast

Up and down the east coast, normal spots like NYC and Philly manage to stay on the beat with music acts. Notable names like Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel are honorable mentions that have carried the respect of east rap easily. Not only is it strong on the commercial end, but even the underground scene is murder. In Philly, buy keeping it real and they build natural respect for each other, and let’s not forget DC, B-More and Newark, NJ for having and image as well. For our New England neighbors it’s been a long time since we heard anything come out that mad noise. The most that we hear about New England these days revolves around Tom Brady, the Celtics and Bobby Brown. This time around though, I’m pleased to introduce Massachusetts own Hip-Hop handlers, Tragic Allies. A collective group of emcee’s that come strong from the jump and they know nothing cool about Martha’s Vineyard. Their new mixtape called The Soul Purpose is a steady blaze of well thought out lyrics colliding with uppercut like beats… yeah they hard. The album is hosted by Wu affiliate, Killah Priest. The Soul Purpose is a worthy purchase, so don’t sleep. For more info on how to get the mixtape for yourself, go to their Myspace page and while you’re there - request them as a friend.
