Ja Rule To Star In Saw 4
Posted at 2/02/2007 01:24:00 PM
Breaking News
Ya man, Ja Rule is back in the news again. If you are a G-Unit Fan, this may be your chance to see Ja get "banked". Based on report by HHNLive, Ja Rule is set to star in Saw 4 which is going to be released on 10/26/07. Production for the movie begins in March of this year. This doesn't bode well for Ja Rule Fans though, because he is "possibly" only going to be in the opening scene of the movie. Damn..."It's MURDAAAAAAAHHHHHH"

The Return of Chris Lowe (Exclusive Interview)
Posted at 2/02/2007 12:34:00 PM
"The Break Beat King" is only one of the names that come to mind when you speak about Chris Lowe. The super producer of "Black Life" released in 2004 stands among legends like Dj Premier, Pete Rock, J Dilla, Madlib and Large Professor. Who hasn't rocked it out to one if not all of these Dj's tracks? And with credentials like that you have to ask.....where has this cat been? But as the saying goes absence makes the heart go fonder. In the studio according to recent press releases. He has a follow up cd to "Black Life" due to release on April 17, 2007 "Black Life II The Next Thing Smoking" by Nature Sounds. Working with artist like EPMD, Carl Thomas, Sadat X and other rap classics artists, "Black Life" was laced with hard hitters and fire lyrics, and that is what we can expect from Lowe. I heard a few of his new joints off on the low and it's not like his debut cd which had received critical acclaim. This time around Chris Lowe has taken the solo approach; you get nothing but brain bumping tracks of real hip hop. I mean that grimy sound reminiscent of his 15 year long stint in the in the hip hop community. This worth checking out especially if you are a true hip hop head. You can find some of his up and coming tracks on this site: www.nature-sounds.net.
Track listing for Black Life the Next Thing Smoking
1. Smoking (Intro)
2. Smoking (Promo)
3. Chick on Da Side
4. Smoke Break
5. It’s My Thing
6. Back to Back
7. Chasing Stacks
8. Golden Bra Great
9. Wild Thing (Intro)
10. Wild Thing
11. You In Love
12. Another One Bites the Dust
13. Smoking (Outro)
Big Ups to Matt for the track and bio info!

Interview With A Superstar
Posted at 2/02/2007 11:56:00 AM
So I have been sitting on this interview for a minute because this dude is a legend. For once I was speechless on how to put this down. But I got to give the people what they want. Sean Price yes people you heard me Sean Price of Heltah Skeltah!!!!! If you haven’t heard already his second cd dropped in January "Jesus Price- Superstar" and is burning up with fiyah tracks. Tracks like "King Kong", "Violent" and the hottest one of all "Mess You Made" stand out as Price gives the streets of New York a legends anthem.Simply C: So what's with the play on words with the cd title?
SP: The cd was originally going to be called Mighty Joe Young to follow up with the Monkey Barz joint. But I started getting emails about how my music was saving the game and how it was affecting people. So I was like you know Jesus.... not in comparison (laughs) but that's what he did. And Andrew Lloyd Weber had the song and play called "Jesus Christ Superstar" so I was like there it is. Sean Price Superstar.
Simply C: Ok, I peeped your production for this cd; you have a few tracks from 9th Wonder on there. He's been slept on as one of the best. How was working with him?
SP: 9th is the truth. Dude is mad humble and is easy to work with. He's a machine man he did like three beats off one record.
Simply C: You've got some hot tracks on this cd and Monkey Barz is a hard one to beat too. Over the years rap has seen several fades like beat breaks, grimy, hyphy, crunk.... Why did you decide to keep the classic hip hop sound?
SP: I mean that's the time I came up in I ate off of that style of music coming up.
Simply C: I feel you. So let’s get into the politics of rap. Nowadays everybody has a record deal. Do you feel like most rappers are in it for the bragging rights or to make a living? Let's use Jayz as an example with cornering the market and all.
SP: I ain't mad at that man at all. You get it how you can and I think it's a good look what he's doing. I mean just because you rap doesn't mean hip hop is the answer for how you get you dough.
Simply C: Now that's a way to look at it. You are on your hustle right now. But who in the rap game right now best describes you coming up?
SP: (Laughing) Nobody. Only one me.
Simply C: Whew words from a legend. Nobody like Sean Price huh?
SP: Yeah!
Simply C: I'm still tripping that I'm talking to one of the Helter Skelter members! Can we expect anything for your guys in the future?
SP: Actually I'm working on my artist RustLuxx project right now, but we working on getting back in the studio.
Simply C: We stay getting the exclusives for Hiphopruckus! We might have a reunion on our hands!
If you haven’t copped this cd already then make it your business to get two. One for rotation and one for the archives.....this cd it going to be a collectors item. Check out Sean Price's sites: www.duckdown.com, http://www.seanprice.com, and seanprice@myspace.com.
