Part 2 of "Can Young Buck Save G-Unit" by BadNews

It was all good just a month ago... literally. When I woke up yesterday morning, I was bombarded by enough G-unit rumors to swing a stick at. Last week I wrote a piece on whether G-unit soldier Young Buck can save the label's mainstream success, but it looks like the Unit and the MC have a lot more to worry about right now. When the boss Curtis Jackson speaks, everyone listens. He made a few revelations on Hot97's The Miss Jones show (click here), comfirming a few rumors. G-unit's first lady, Olivia, has been been dropped. And he wasn't feeling the fact that the Young Buck/Game Beef (which is now offically over thanks to the song Body Bags track that The Game dropped this week) had offically came to a end. He stated if it was true he will place Buck in the same position he placed Game. Wow. I, as well as everyone else, is now asking what the hell is happening to G-Unit? Did Sha Money XL leave? Who is getting added? Who's getting dropped? What's going on with the Tony Yayo situation?
As far as Young Buck, his single Get Buck peaked @ #43 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 R&B/Hip Hop charts and it looks like if he makes a depature, he can stand alone as a artist. But does the question that I asked last week really have an answer. The past couple days I came up with a new questioin....Is Buck on his way out?
The Badnews Opinion
As of right now, the Unit is going through some changes and we all have to change and adapt to survive. The Unit is in a perfect position to make those changes without hurting themselves...right now. If Buck is staying, he can save the Unit and then 50, yes 50 Cent, piggy back off Buck's success and continue the consistency. And will this same energy put more pressure on the other soldiers such as Mobb Deep,Young Hot Rod, and 40 Glocc to maintain the level of excellence of G-unit.
Now if Buck is on the way out, he will have more than enough connections to stay a float in this crazy industry and like I said before... he can make hits. But God forbid, he leaves the label. Fans be prepared. Don't anticipate. Just be prepared.
This situation as well as any other problems the record labels face, will get worse before it gets better. As a wise video vixen once told me, and this is a very true quote, "If they're not talking about you, then there's something wrong". Well, she's definitely right. Stay tuned hip hop.
