The Release Yo Delf hitmaker, real name Clifford Smith, was horrified when Williams announced on her syndicated show The Wendy Williams Experience that his wife was suffering from the potentially-fatal illness.Speaking to internet hip-hop show The Break Down, the former Wu Tang Clan rapper fumes, "You can attack me any way that you want to. But you don't attack my family. "My wife had nothing to do with that. "Her family members didn't even know she was sick. Everybody looking at her, staring at her. You know how uncomfortable that makes somebody feel? Especially someone that's going through chemo? "Stupid a*s bitch!"

Mr. T changes his image
Posted at 7/15/2006 02:49:00 PM
Mr. T has given himself a makeover. The former television action star shed the piles of gold chains that were his signature look after witnessing the destruction from Hurricane Katrina.
"As a spiritual man, I felt it would be a sin against my God for me to wear all that gold again because I spent a lot of time with the less fortunate," the actor said Thursday at the Television Critics Association's summer meeting.
"I saw some, I call it 'sorry celebrities.' They'll go down there and hook up with the people to take a photo-op. I said, 'How disgusting.' If you're not going to go down there with a check and a hammer and a nail to help the people, don't go down there."
Mr. T, whose real name is Lawrence Tero, stars in "I Pity the Fool" debuting in October on TV Land. He dispenses advice to viewers who are struggling with life's problems.
The former star of "The A-Team" said he's about more than his rough-and-tough image.
"Yes, I am qualified to beat people up. But I am pretty intelligent," he said. "That's what throws people off. If you've been through something, that gives you an authority that you can speak on certain things. That's why people relate to me. I pull no punches."

Eminem Accused Of Assaulting Man In Strip-Club Bathroom
Posted at 7/14/2006 09:40:00 PM
Detroit police are investigating an altercation that occurred in the men's bathroom of a strip club on the city's west side that allegedly involved Eminem.According to a police spokesperson, detectives are "very interested" in speaking with the rapper about the incident, which unfolded early Thursday morning inside the Cheetah strip club, located on the road Em's music and film helped bring to worldwide fame: 8 Mile.
The spokesperson said police merely want to discuss the matter with Em, as well as the alleged victim and anyone else who may have been involved — but they do not, at this point, have any suspects in the alleged assault.
The Detroit Free Press reported that the fight started at around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, when a 48-year-old Royal Oak, Michigan, man — the alleged victim — claims he was assaulted in the strip club's bathroom. Local ABC News affiliate WXYZ identified the victim simply as Miad J., but police would not release the names of individuals who may have been involved. Miad J. told the news station that Eminem punched him in the face four or five times.
The victim told WXYZ that he was using a urinal next to Eminem when another man entered the bathroom and struck up a conversation with the rapper. At that point, Miad J. said that one of Em's bodyguards warned the man to keep quiet. Miad J. said he told the bodyguard to relax, and when "Eminem got done ... he started swinging," he told WXYZ. "I wasn't even expecting it. I was just minding my own business."
A spokesperson for Cheetah told the Free Press that a fight had occurred inside the club and that Eminem was involved, but declined further comment.
A spokesperson for Eminem's label, Interscope Records, declined MTV News' requests for comment on the situation.
According to the Free Press, police claim the assailants fled the club in a vehicle, and that a third suspect — riding in the same car — brandished a firearm, but that he did not point it at anyone outside the club.
Miad J. sustained minor injuries to the side of his face, WXYZ reported. Miad J. said the club's bouncers intervened, and tossed Eminem's bodyguards out of the club. Witnesses reported seeing Eminem inside the Cheetah the evening of the alleged assault.
The incident is the latest in a series of legal issues connected with Eminem this year, including the shooting death of his D12 bandmate and longtime friend Proof and his second divorce from wife Kim.

Will.I.Am Says Hip Hop is Angry, Negative Music
Posted at 7/14/2006 09:10:00 AM
Will.I.Am wants to distance his Black Eyed Peas from hip hop.Despite admitting to have started out as a hip hop act, Will.I.Am says the genre of music is not what it used to be.
"When you compare it to today's standards of what hip hop is ... don't even call it that, cause that's like, an insult,” the Black Eyed Peas frontman said via a press release statement. "Today's hip hop is just angry, negative music that just makes black people look bad."
Despite his latest comments, Will.I.Am did recite the hook on Busta Rhymes’ smash single, “I Love My Chick.”
He also appeared with the likes of Busta, Eminem, Missy Elliot, Papoose and Lloyd Banks onstage for a televised live performance of the song at the BET Awards.
The remix to the Peas' "My Humps," also featured Lil' Jon.

Chingy Out To Prove Himself As A Hoodstar With Jermaine Dupri, Tyrese
Posted at 7/14/2006 08:37:00 AM
There was magic when Chingy and Jermaine Dupri got together in the studio earlier this year — it just waited until Chingy went home to come out."I don't know who I was writing the song for, but I was at home and I was singing the melody and I put it on record," Dupri recalled. "And Chingy and I had just worked together, so I called back like, 'I got another song for you,' and they ain't even want another song! But I sent the song to him, he put his vocals on it, sent it back, and I was like, 'That's the single. You gotta put that out first.' So it was definitely magic."
The song is called "Pullin' Me Back," and Chingy made it his new single — after adding someone else to it.
"I thought Tyrese would be a good selection to get on the song, so I sent it to Tyrese and he did his part and it's a wrap," Chingy said.
A few months later, and "Pullin' Me Back" is #18 on Billboard's Hot R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs chart.
"It's [based on] an experience that I had, but it's just really about being in this industry and dealing with your maid or whatever, and vice versa," Chingy explained. "You gotta travel, you gotta go here, you gotta do this, gotta be handling your business, and the person just don't seem to get it, don't understand. You're trying to give her quality time, but your job consists of you working and being gone. So it can be good, it can be bad, but every time you find yourself trying to leave, you always go back."
"Pullin' Me Back" is the first single from Chingy's long-delayed third album, Hoodstar, due September 12. "Pullin' Me Back" had a lot of early competition before being chosen as the first single.
Dupri, Timbaland, Kwamé, Mannie Fresh, Pauly Paul and the Trak Starz contributed beats, and Three 6 Mafia, Choppa and Chingy's cousin Spiffy add verses.
Song titles range from "You's a Freak" to "Nike Aurrs and Crispy Tee's" to "Bounce That Thang Girl."
"I matured," Chingy said of how the album compares to 2004's Powerballin'. "I'm training my business mind right now. I'm trying to handle more of my business versus just being an artist and letting people handle my business for me, because ain't nobody gonna do it how you want it to be done unless you do it."
In June, Chingy had to deal with some business issues when a St. Louis man claimed the rapper breached a 1999 contract by signing with Ludacris in 2002 . That lawsuit is still in court.
Chingy also has a movie in the can, "The System Within," although no release date has been announced.

Kool G Rap Signs With West Coast Indie Back Route Records
Posted at 7/14/2006 08:18:00 AM
Hip-Hop pioneer Kool G Rap has signed a recording deal with Stockton, Calif.,-based Back Route Records and is set to release his next album Uncontrolled Substance. The rapper, who has released classic albums like 1988's Road to the Riches, 1990's Wanted: Dead or Alive and 1995's 456, decided on Back Route after hearing about the independent label's CEO Jamez "Jamez Bomb" Rosado.
"I first linked up with my dude Jamez through doing a feature with one of the artist signed to his label named Okwerdz," said G Rap. "My man [producer] Domingo also spoke highly of how Jamez handles business. That's basically how we connected to lay down this street album. Uncontrolled Substance is definitely gonna be a banger."
The signing concludes months of speculation about which label would sign G Rap, who was rumored to be aligning with G-Unit.
The Back Route deal fell into place after much discussion between Rosado and G Rap, who harbored respect for the West Coast independent scene.
The pair was introduced by a mutual friend, according to Rosado, who said that "everything fell into place. Real recognize real."
In addition to the G Rap signing, Back Route is also working with DJ Green Lantern for the release of the new mixtape Sneak Attack. The disc will feature Back Route artists and offer songs from upcoming albums, including exclusives with Too Short, Tech N9ne, and Goldie of Federation, as well as remixes.

NIA LONG IN STREET BRAWL: Actress' new guy and former one duke it out.
Posted at 7/14/2006 07:39:00 AM
This is one of those stories that kinda makes you wish you were there to witness it go down. It seems actress Nia Long was kickin' it at the Grove shopping center in LA last Friday (June 7th)with her new boo. But little did she and he know things were about to get ugly.According to the report from TMZ.com, Massai Z. Dorsey, Long's baby daddy and now ex, ran into the pair. We're not sure what exactly happened, but apparently there's bad blood between the dudes because a street brawl broke out between Dorsey and Long's new guy, right in the middle of the shopping center!
When the dust cleared sources say Long's new guy friend put a serious whipping on Long's ex leaving him lying on the street as he and Long took off running. The source also says that as Long was running she lost her shoe but didn't seem to care. She left the shoe behind and kept running!
